I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what our industry celebrates. We celebrate the before and after photos. The goal weight. The stage physique. The race medal. The transformation. And don’t get me wrong, those moments matter. They represent hard work, commitment, and the courage to change. But what I’ve come to believe after more than 20 years of coaching is this: The transformation isn’t the finish line. It’s the introduction. Because what happens after the goal? What happens when the photoshoot is over, the dress fits, the vacation ends, or the number on the scale finally reflects the effort you’ve put in? For many people, that’s when the real challenge begins. The truth is, most coaching programs focus on achieving the transformation. Because anyone can help you lose weight. Helping you keep it while building a life you actually enjoy living? That’s coaching. This philosophy is exactly why I’ve evolved my coaching approach into what I now call SHIFT(ED) Performance Coaching Coaching that transforms more than your body. If you’ve been thinking about making a change, recommitting to yourself, or approaching your health and performance differently this time, I’d love to have a conversation. I’m opening 5 coaching spots for July/August for women who are ready to build not just a transformation, but the skills and systems to maintain one. If that sounds like something you’re ready for, simply reply to this email with “SHIFT” and let’s chat. Because the goal was never just to transform. The goal was to become someone who never has to start over again. Talk soon, Virginia Own Your Shift | SHIFT(ED) Performance Coaching |

But here's where I want you to do things a little differently this year: Don't start over. You don't need to punish yourself for summer. You don't need a...
Maybe we're drawn to those moments because that feeling is so rare This week I went to a concert, and I paused for a moment… to absorb the crowd and watch an entire venue sing the same words at the same time. There’s a thing that happens when a group of people are doing one thing together, and it stops being a bunch of separate people and becomes something singular. A body with one voice. I have always felt a pull toward live music for this reason: the beauty, the collective harmony, the...
